Feeder


We eventually settled on ‘Just a Day’ by the band Feeder. This song is of the Rock Genre and thus we have looked at the conventions for this genre. Normally there is a band, with a lot of low angles and tight close ups. They also tend to use steady cam more than tri-pod held shots.

We also thought that this song in particular was lighter than the average rock song, so took that liberty in aiming the video more at the teenage, mainstream audience, but still keeping the main conventions of rock music videos. This conforms to the uses and gratifications model of genre where an audience expects enough of the conventions of a genre to let the feel secure, but also need something different to be satisfied.
